Bring a Tasty Treat, Eat Lunch, Paint a Pumpkin

Bring a friend, bring the family
Enter your favorite fall dessert. You may enter either a pumpkin or apple dessert. Or if feeling energetic, you may enter something in both categories. Attendees at the luncheon will vote for their favorite dessert. All dessert makers will remain anonymous until after judging. There will be one prize given to an overall winner!
There will be a sign-up sheet available starting the first Sunday in September. There will be a place to enter your name and how many in your family will be attending the luncheon. There will be a separate column to check if you will be entering the contest. Please do not give the name or type of dessert you will be bringing.
We will also have pumpkins available to paint with your favorite fall theme!

Some contest rules:
- Item entered must be made at home, not store bought.
- Item must be placed in a non-descript container. ( ie: a container that no one at church will recognize as yours, or have your name attached anywhere.)
- Keep the identity of your dessert to yourself so everyone has an even chance.

There is a special love between a pet and their owner that is a gift from God. St. Francis of Assisi, who loved all God’s creatures, was known for blessing animals and in honor of that tradition we are going to have a “Blessing of the Animals” on Sunday, Oct. 6, from 2-4 p.m.. Friends and neighbors are encouraged to bring their personal or family pets to share God’s blessing with them. Rev. Sue and friends will bestow a blessing on your pet. Special treats will be provided by students from New Albany High School.
Important guidelines to keep in mind:

- All dogs must be on leashes and other pets (cats, rabbits, reptiles, etc.) must be in carriers.
- If your pet does not like large groups of people, show your pet some consideration and keep it home.
- Remember to pick up after your dog just as you would at any other time.
- Children without pets may feel left out – they are encouraged to bring stuffed animals to be blessed!
- Tell your friends and family and make it an extra special day for you and your pet!
