![]() We are completing the renovations on the basement and I’m thrilled that we already have two organizations moving into our space for on-going programs. At our recent Session meeting, we named the lower level the “Mt. Tabor Church Community Center” and the lower fellowship hall is now “The Community Room”. We approved two non-profit organizations which will move into lower-level rooms for office, storage and meetings. Together, we have committed to partnering with organizations who are in need of support in order to carry out their mission which is in sync with our mission.
Use it Again was founded by physical therapists who have the goal of helping everyone get the medical equipment they need to be safe in their homes. To make this goal possible for everyone, their services are cost-free. They pick up equipment people are no longer using and store it until someone else needs it, and then deliver it to them--at no cost. |
Let Us Learn is committed to making sure every family has access to healthful food. They are increasing access to healthful food for the entire community through education, gathering, growing, and distributing fresh food. We are excited that they share our commitment to welcome and celebrate diversity, inclusion, and respect for all people of different backgrounds, beliefs, and identities.
We are also excited that RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program of Hope Southern Indiana) will be using the Community Room for upcoming workshops. Their mission is to help seniors get connected with a variety of different volunteer opportunities throughout Southern Indiana. Providing meeting, office and storage space at a very low fee is an opportunity to live into our mission to partner with others who share our vision for caring for the community. Soon we will have a “ribbon cutting” celebration and a meet and greet opportunity with our new occupants. Watch for details coming up soon. We especially want to give thanks to our Foundation Committee, led by Carol Traister, for all the work they have done to bring this dream to life. left image by Freepik |
